During my first flight to Qatar with Qatar airways, me and the rest of the passengers were served with 2 meals plus desserts and of course drinks with extra wine. AND I fell in love with their mango pudding. It was rich and creamy and the flavor of the mango is just right, not overwhelming or short of it and the sweetness is to my liking. That’s when I vowed to make the same for my husband when I get to our place in Qatar. Then I forgot about it.
I was reminded of that mango pudding dessert by Qatar airways last new year’s eve when we attended a potluck get-together organized by my husband’s colleagues. There in the corner of the table full of food is a bowl of luscious looking yellow dessert and I know that instant that it is something like a mango pudding only that it is syrupy and not the set type. I didn’t wait for dessert time to come to indulge myself with the creamy mango. The truth is, all I ate that new year’s eve is the creamy mango uuuhhhrrrm dessert ( can I call it salad?) With a full tummy and satisfied taste-buds plus a large container for take-out, it was certainly a sweet blessed start for the new year. Thanks to Juliet and Harold for the creamy mango dessert.
So the time came when I made my own creamy mango dessert and my husband liked it too. What I love about this dessert are that it gives an explosive feeling of different textures inside the mouth and the satisfying different flavors and richness of the dessert – cheesy, sweet, creamy, and mango-ey (??? :-))

CREAMY MANGO DESSERT
Mango flavored gelatin – prepare it as directed in its package
Mango Flavoring – 1/2 tsp
White Sugar – 1 tsp
Cheddar Cheese, sliced into small squares – 100 g.
Mango slices in syrup, diced – drained wait 230 g.
Heavy Cream – 175 g.
Condensed Milk – 50 ml or to taste
Mango juice (30% concentrate) – 250 ml
Mango Flavoring – 1 tsp
1. Prepare the mango flavored gelatin as directed in its package. Add mango flavoring and a bit of sugar as you stir all the ingredients together. Chill the gelatin until it is set then dice it.
2. In a bowl, mix well together the heavy cream, condensed milk, mango juice,and mango flavoring.
3. Toss in the mango slices, mango gelatin slices, and cheddar cheese in the cream mixture.
Place it in the refrigerator and chill for an hour at least before serving.
